Tiptree World Bread Awards Heroes with Brook Food closes soon

Caring for others is at the heart of what it means to be a good citizen. Nothing demonstrates this more than the acclaimed Bread Heroes campaign by Tiptree World Bread Awards with Brook Food. Building on last year’s great success, the Tiptree World Bread Awards are once again celebrating the UK and Ireland’s extraordinary Bread Heroes.

Caroline Kenyon, Founder/Director of the Awards, says, ‘Our Bread Heroes campaign, launched at the start of the pandemic, has touched a chord in a way that we could never have imagined.

‘These wonderful people, the length and breadth of the United Kingdom, have been holding a strained and isolated society together, working punishing hours, under great pressure, but always putting the welfare of others before their own. It’s a huge privilege to celebrate them.’

The Awards seek stories that show the nominated Bread Hero's impact on their community, their reach, how they have innovated, their generosity of spirit and their care for the wellbeing of others.

Nominations for Tiptree World Bread Awards Heroes with Brook Food are to be submitted via the website. A nomination can be made by the nominee themselves or by a third party.

There will be 13 regional Bread Hero winners, and, an exciting addition for 2021, a selection of special awards. These include the Brook Food Dream Team Award, KitchenAid Home Baker Hero, Shipton Mill Real Bread Hero, Tiptree Outstanding Achievement Award, Wright’s Flour Award for Innovation, and Zeelandia Award for Sustainability.

This year’s judging panel of baking luminaries is chaired by Stephen Hallam, Master Baker and Brand Ambassador for Dickinson & Morris. Judges include Juliet Sear, Baking Expert, Cook, Food Stylist, Author & TV Presenter; Jack Sturgess, Channel 4s Sunday Brunch Bread Expert; Henry Herbert, Hobbs House Bakery, Fabulous Baking Brothers; Dipna Anand, Celebrity Chef, Author & Restaurateur; Andrew Whitley, Co-founder, Bread Matters, Real Bread Campaign and Scotland The Bread.

All the winners will be announced during an Online Awards Evening on Tuesday 19 October 2021.
